Newport, South Wales
The Welsh Waterways Festival 2010, incorporating the 2010 IWA National Trailboat Festival was held at Kimberly Park in Newport over the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend at the end of May and was hosted by the Monmouthshire, Brecon and Abergavenny Canals Trust.  This was our first venture across the border and we were made very welcome.  A little bit of Welsh Mist arrived on the Saturday but only dampened proceedings a little bit.  The whole three days were quite busy and we caused some confusion amongst some visitors who couldn't find us on a Welsh map.  this is a canal that really needs to be fully restored.  A look at some of the derelict locks showed just what is waiting to be done.  Certainly a canal that deserve further exploration.

Circumstances required that we didn't take our usual tent, but two smaller gazeboes.

Newport R1002 For the first time we had an electricity supply and we used this for lighting and runing a small TV video display.  This was a good chance to try out things we want to do at the 2010 National at Beale Park
